Marlene Alice Reeves

April 29, 1931 — October 3, 2015

Marlene Alice Andrus Reeves of Kimberly, Idaho went home to be with her heavenly Father on October 3, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Charles and Mildred Andrus on April 29, 1931 in Wendell, Idaho. She grew up in Jerome, Idaho where she attended school graduating from Jerome High School in 1949. She then went on to attend Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. Marlene married Jackie Braswell in April 1953, they had 6 children, Brenda Thompson, Debbie Wickham (Larry), Anthony Braswell (Debra), Dixie Watts (Joe), Sharon Izaguirre (Robert), Rhonda Braswell-deceased. Grandchildren : Mort Thompson, Stacey Thompson, Kristy Alves, Jeremy Wickham, Larry M. Wickham, Trevor Braswell, Vanessa Bishop, Natalie Hendricks, Laura Braswell, Ashley Braswell, Lance Braswell, Eric Braswell, Devon Braswell, Kassandra Neilson, and Cody Edwards. Marlene married Phillip Wayne Reeves on June 21, 1969, joining two families together where, Mike Nix, Phillip Wayne Reeves, Donna Fessenden (Gary), Brenda Adams, Karis Reeves, Tommy Reeves (Mary), Tammie Walls, Mark Reeves (Shelly), became part of her life. Grandchildren: Mike Dean, Melani Edwards, Wendy Dean, Sarah Hughes, Rebekah Holt, Phillip Adams, Kasey Reeves, Karis Reeves, Jeremy Reeves, Jenny Knee, Levi Walls, Isreal Walls, Raylee Reeves, Rylan Reeves. Marlene had a long-successful career at the Twin Falls Bank and Trust, starting as a teller and working up to a note officer until she retired on July 1, 1996. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kimberly Second Ward, where she served as a visiting teacher and she and Wayne participated in family home evening groups for many years where they made and kept many friendships. Marlene's passions in life were her family, cooking, and reading. She was famous for her apricot pineapple jam; you probably enjoyed a jar or two sometime along the way. Grandma instilled a family tradition of fabulous homemade candies and that famous Texas breakfast into her family. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a Great-Great Grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by a sister Maurine Parker (Auntie Maid), her children, grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, a son, 2 sisters, a brother, and 3 grandsons. Visitation for Marlene will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 7, 2015 at Parks Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Visitation will continue at 12:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm on October 8, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kimberly 2"d Ward, 2222 Birch St, Kimberly, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Primary Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, Utah 84158-0249 in honor of Marlene Reeves.
