Lois Goold

October 13, 1931 — September 27, 2015

Lois Jean Goold, 83, passed away the evening of September 27, 2015 in Twin Falls, ID surrounded by the love of her family. Lois was born in Alliance, Nebraska on October 13, 1931, to Thelma and Clarence Bottorff. She was the first of nine girls (or The Sisters as family refers to the bunch) born to the couple. The family moved to Twin Falls in 1943 during the depression years, living in a tent city until her family could afford their first home on Adams St. Lois married Dean Shelton in 1949, and later divorced. She married the love of her life, Charles (Chuck) H. Goold on June 24, 1959. They raised their family on a farm in the View area, just south of Burley, Idaho. Their home was always bursting with family from near and far, hosting countless family gatherings. And every year she looked forward to the annual Sisters Reunion, where she, her sisters, and her mother would travel together. Lois was always caring for others; whether her younger siblings, growing family, or as a CNA. It was inevitable that she would become a nurse. She worked for 20 years at Cassia Regional Medical Center. She made many lasting friendships within her work family and looked forward to annual reunions with them. Chuck and Lois were able to travel during their early retirement years, starting out as somewhat snowbirds, they eventually retired full time in Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1998. After Chuck passed away, Lois continued to travel to all the places she ever dreamed of seeing. She visited Europe, Japan, and Australia along with touring the U.S. Her favorite activities included cribbage, bingo, playing the Flaming 7s slot machines (which seemed equally fond of her), and most of all, dancing. She loved to dress up in her bling and go out dancing. She was an active member of the Eagles and the Elks in Havasu, and spent many evenings dancing with friends at both places. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Charlene, her husband Charles, and her great grandson Corbin. She is survived by her children: DeAnne Jones, Janis Martsch, Robert (Laura) Goold, Gary Goold, Margo (Bruce) Guffy, Teresa (Boyd) Richins, Kathy Satter, and Brad (Pam) Goold, her 19 grandchildren, and her 25 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Betty Hatch, Jan Shepard, Geri Franz, Thelma (Pete)Burum, Judy Belmont, Sharon Skinner, and Karen Jimenez. Lois requested there be no service. A Celebration of Life will be announced and held in Lake Havasu City Arizona, and in the Magic Valley at a later date.
