Hazel Lorene McKay Good was born on October 15, 1929 on the family homestead in Matheson,Colorado, to parents Walter Henry and Allie A. (Fox) Johnson, the youngest of 11 children. She passed away on August 17, 2015 at the age of 85 at home in Twin Falls, Idaho. Following her father's death in 1931, the brothers took care of their mother until the family moved to Kimberly, ID in 1937. She attended Pleasant Valley School, Kimberly High School, Twin Falls Business College, and later earned an Associates Degree from the College of Southern Idaho in 1982. Hazel and Adam Lapp were married on September 27, 1947 in Elko, NV. Together they had seven children while residing in Idaho, Ellensburg and Pasco WA, and near Elko NV. Following Adam's untimely death in 1962, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Twin Falls Hospital. It was here that she met George Edwin "Butch" McKay. They were married in Twin Falls on December 24, 1965. After moving to Butch's hometown of Hailey, ID the family size increased with the birth of a daughter prior to moving to Bellevue in 1968, where they remained until returning to Twin Falls in 1983. Butch passed away in 1997. Being fortunate enough to find love for the third time, Hazel married Edwin George Good in Kimberly, ID on April 4, 2009. Ed passed away in 2013. Hazel was a longtime active member of the Kimberly Church of the Nazarene. Although the majority of her time was spent being a wife and mother, she also sold TriChem liquid embroidery paints as well as working as a nurse's aide and briefly as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, reading, playing family games and computer solitaire. This past year, she treasured spending time and playing games on the iPad with her fouryearold greatgranddaughter Lillian, who was her little buddy. Hazel was preceded in death by her three husbands, Adam Lapp, George "Butch" McKay, and Edwin Good; parents Walter and Allie Johnson; her 10 siblings, Edith Davidson, Esther Case, Lela Butler, Roy Johnson, Jessie Johnson, Henry Johnson, Vernon Johnson, Alvie Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, and Thelma Ashcraft; . Hazel is survived by two of her inlaws, Kenneth (Thelma) Ashcraft of Arvada CO, and Joan (Vernon) Johnson of Mackay ID. Hazel is survived by her children Carolyn Deuel and Glenda Thompson, Twin Falls; Joan (Pete) Morey, Inkom ID; Barbara Lapp, Twin Falls; Mike (Cheryl) Lapp, Pataskala OH; Don Lapp, Kimberly ID; Lorrie (Torrey) Grubbs, Hailey ID; Jan (Margaret Johnston) BrizeeJohnston, Carlin NV; stepsons Edwin (Jeanine) McKay, Stallion Springs CA; Jim (Mary) McKay, Oakdale CA. Grandchildren Terry, Dwane, Steve, Mike, Shawna; Cindy, Steve, Roy; Christie, Jenny; Eric, Nichole, Laura; Joe, John, Michell, Matt, Rachael; Jessica, Shelby; Sarah, Kelly; 24 great-grandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren; as well as additional stepgrandchildren in California. Our family is eternally grateful to Nichole Loyer for her constant companionship and exceptional loving and compassionate care of her grandmother over this past year. A heartfelt thank you is also extended to St. Lukes Home Health for the care they provided. Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home will host a viewing at 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 23rd. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, 3550 East 3750 North, Kimberly ID at 11:00 am, Monday August 24, 2015, interment following at Twin Falls Cemetery.
