Ilene Winterholler

Ilene Mabel Winterholler, 86, of Filer, Idaho passed away peacefully Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Stoney Creek Assisted Living Center with her daughters at her side. She was born on October 17, 1928 in Bowdle, South Dakota to Emil and Anna Miller. She was the oldest of six children. As a young child her family moved from South Dakota to Blackfoot, Idaho and then later on to Wendell, Idaho where Ilene attended school. Ilene married J. Carl Winterholler on August 4, 1946. Ilene was known to be hard a working woman who never complained; always doing what was necessary to help provide for her family. She was very talented with her hands. Ilene had a knack for woodworking as well as crocheting and gardening. Family members would always look forward to seeing what handmade item would be received each Christmas. Ilene and Carl enjoyed fishing and camping together. Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have fond memories of spending times with Grandpa and Grandma at Magic Reservoir. Ilene was a devout Christian who attended Fellowship Community Church in Filer, Idaho. She and Carl had four children Judy Ann, Alan Dennis, Wilma Jean and Susan Renee. Ilene was a warm, loving mother who taught her children good work ethics. Fun family time was spent playing card games, Yahtzee, and other games outside such as horse shoes. Games later became a tradition carried on to the next generation as many great-grandchildren loving called her "Grandma Dice". Ilene loved a good ball game especially when her Atlanta Braves played! Ilene relished time spent with her family and her grandchildren. She left behind a great legacy of seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Whenever school wasn't in session you could find grandchildren and great-grandchildren having fun sleepovers, camping and fishing with Grandpa and Grandma. She is survived by her youngest sister, Shirley (Cliff) Williams of Filer, Idaho, daughters Wilma (Joseph) Powlus of Twin Falls, Idaho and Susan (Daja) Pospichal of Filer, Idaho. Grandchildren Kirk (Marjean) Hazen of Twin Falls, Idaho; Cinnamon (Jed) Dilworth of Meridian, Idaho; Jonathon (Becky) Powlus of Twin Falls, Idaho; Brandi Shroll of Kuna, Idaho; Michael (Katy) Pospichal of Twin Falls, Idaho; Michelle Pospichal of Filer, Idaho and Andrew (Stephanie) Pospichal of Filer, Idaho. Great-grandchildren Joshua Dilworth, Alexis Dilworth, Ryley Hazen, Preston Hazen, Carson Hazen, J. Andrew Powlus, Dallyn Powlus, McKenzie Powlus, Aliza Powlus, Brayden Shroll, Ashton Shroll and great-great granddaughter Adelynn Larson. Preceding her in death were her loving husband J. Carl Winterholler, son, Alan D. Winterholler, daughter, Judy (Larry) Hazen, great-granddaughter, Kelsey Kaye Powlus, parents, Emil and Anna Miller, sister, Esther (Harley) Ahrens, brother, Eugene (Pat) Miller, sister, Viola (Joe) Jenkins and sister, JoAnn (John) Frieir. Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 22, 2015 with the viewing beginning at 9:00am at Parke's Funeral Home at 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. The family wishes to express appreciation for the loving care given by the staff at Stoney Creek Assisted Living Center and also to the nurturing caregivers from Hospice Visions of Twin Falls. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice Visions of Twin Falls in loving memory of Ilene.
