Tamara Rae Brass

November 27, 1957 — July 29, 2015

Tamara Rae Brass 57 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away July 29, 2015 at her home surrounded by all of her family. Tammy attended school in Hansen, Idaho. She was active in the pep club, music club, drama club, drill team, 4-H and was secretary of her sophomore class. She graduated in 1976 with valedictorian honors of her class. She married Raymond Paul Brass May 28, 1977. They had two children. Tamara worked most of her life as a waitress until her youngest sister opened a daycare center. She helped her out at the daycare for a few years. Tamara had a strong passion for her kids, grandkids as well as all the children she took care of at the daycare. She had many passions in her life. Another passion she had was bowling. She started bowling in 1983. She bowled all over the Magic Valley and made many new friends along the way. With bowling she traveled to Kansas, Texas, Nevada, and Louisiana. She also bowled Travel League and Hi-5, meeting more friends doing that. She also helped coach the youth bowlers on Saturday mornings in Shoshone. Tamara had a smile on her face all the time no matter how much pain she was in or what was troubling her. A happy, bubbly personality no matter what. She was a very, very strong woman no matter what life threw at her. Inspiration to all of us. She always said, "Just have fun". One of her favorite hobbies was crafts. She decorated bird houses, tissue boxes out of plastic canvas, and numerous other crafts. If she seen it, she was going to attempt to make it. Her daughter for her birthday one year gave her a schnauzer, she named him Jumanji. After that she fell in love with schnauzers. After Jumanji she had Zoey, Rooka and Charlie. They were her kids to. She loved them very much. Always made sure they were taken care of when she would leave on her bowling trips. Tamara touched so many lives. She was a big Kansas City football fan as well as Boise State Broncos. When it would come around to football season, you knew it. You could hear cheers or you could hear cuss words depending on how her team was doing. Tamara was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Raymond M. Brass. She is survived by her husband Paul Brass, her two children Julie Brass and Tony (Heather) Brass, her mom and dad Bud and Darlene Higgins, her grandchildren Brennon Brass, Keaton Brass, Adezra Nelson, Azalynn Nelson, Alexius Brass, Cassidy Brass, Hailey and Preston. Her sisters, Debbie(Dick) Hurd, Shelly (Jason) Olsen, Karla (Clay) Robinson, Keri (Matt) Taberna and her brother Raymond (Wendy) Higgins. A very special friend Robyn Hardy. And many numerous friends and extended family Bert and Sharon. Tamara requested no funeral services. She made it very clear that she wanted to have a fun celebration of her life. That there are to be no "boobers" but, for everyone to have fun and share memories. She also mentioned a golf club, now a few of us know very well what that means. Everyone attending the Celebration of Life needs to wear blue. Light blue, dark blue she doesn't care as long as its blue. The details of the Celebration of Life will be posted at a later time by her daughter Julie Brass. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to MTSI (Mountain States Tumor Institute St. Lukes Twin Falls) or a cancer foundation.
