Elizabeth Hutchinson Swan February 13, 1921-July 21, 2015 Twin Falls, Idaho- Elizabeth (Libby) Hutchinson Swan passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015. Libby was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 13, 1921 the daughter of Phillip and Elise Hutchinson. She attended Rolland Hall Girls School and the University of Utah where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was also a debutant in Charleston, South Carolina. While attending The U' she met and married J.W. (Bill) Swan. Libby was a war bride and they were apart for the duration of the war. After the war, she and Bill settled down and took over the management of the family ranch in Northern Utah. Although it was a different world for her, she embraced the ranching lifestyle and became actively involved in the Utah Wool Grower's Association and the Make It with Wool Competition. In 1963, Bill and Libby purchased House Creek Ranch located in the Three Creek area of Southern Idaho. She continued to be an active in the cattle industry where she served as President of the Idaho Cattlewomen's Association and received the Idaho Cattlewoman of the year award along with other national and local leadership roles and honors. She was a member of 71 Livestock Association, and a member of PEO Chapter AI. Libby was an active member of the Ascension Episcopal Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her husband Bill, daughter Diane and son-in-law Brent Marchetti, son George Swan and sister Virginia Dean preceded her in death. She is survived by Katherine (Richard) Stivers, John (Marlene) Swan, Barbara (Curtis) Anderson and fifteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren 27 and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Ascension Episcopal Church in Twin Falls, on Monday, July 27 at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call Sunday July 26, 2015 from 5 - 7 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls. Interment services will be at the Kaysville Cemetery in Kaysville, Utah on Tuesday, July 28 at 2:00 P.M.. The family would like to thank the kind caregivers of Woodstone Assisted Living Center in Twin Falls, Idaho and the loving and compassionate friends who have supported Libby through the good times and the long good bye.
