Edith "Edie" Vilate Kimball Watson passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 12, 2015. Edie was a resident at Park Place Assisted Living Facility in Reno, Nevada, at the time of her passing. She was 84 years old. Edie was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on November 7, 1930. She was the daughter of Adaline Luthey Kimball and Thatcher Kimball. Edie grew up and attended schools in Mackay, Idaho. She had many lifelong friends from her school days in Mackay. She attended cosmetology school in Idaho Falls, Idaho, after graduation from high school in 1948. She married Joseph F. Watson on December 26, 1950. They had four children, three sons and one daughter. In the early years of her marriage, she and Joe lived in the small mining community of Cobalt, Idaho, where she also made many lifelong friends. She and Joe moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, in 1960, and to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 1987. Edie was very fond of traveling, reading, Bible studies, doting on her grandchildren, television legal dramas, and playing dominoes. She also enjoyed visiting and corresponding with her lifelong school friends, some of whom were close for 75 years or more, and her good friends from Cobalt. She enjoyed collecting books, antique cobalt glass, and antique tea cups and saucers. She had a particular knack for interior decorating and could always make every room in her house very charming and cozy. Edie is survived by her daughter, Lori (Mark) Kohler of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren: Jesse Watson, Justin (Leena) Watson, Heide (Rick) Harris, Haley-Joy Watson, and Brett Watson, Matthew Kohler, Christina Kohler, and Luke Kohler; five great grandchildren; and her sister, DeLoris Jewitt from Challis, Idaho.
