Freda Lucretia Nicholson

February 24, 1925 — July 15, 2015

Freda Lucretia Nicholson, 90, Twin Falls, passed away July 15, 2015 at Heritage Assisted Living in Twin Falls. She was born on February 24, 1925 in Eden, Idaho to Fred and Freda (Bucher) Lintz. She married Elmo Garrison in 1943, they later divorced. Freda later married Gerald Nicholson in 1962, they remained together until his passing. Freda worked at Newberry's and State Hardware and the Flour Mill in Twin Falls. Later, she and Gerald moved to Stanley where they lived for 30 years. While in Stanley, they owned the building on Ace of Diamonds street, where they ran a laundromat and a rock shop. She was on the clinic board at the Chamber of Commerce and was member of the Sawtooth Mountain Mommas. Freda enjoyed quilting, it was her greatest love; when she moved back to Twin Falls, Freda became a member of the Desert Sage Quilters of Magic Valley. She also enjoyed leather tooling, oil painting, crafting jewelry with gemstones, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She is survived by children; Hazel Schutte, Susan (Brent) Stastny, Gary (Laura) Nicholson, and Don (Margo) Nicholson. Freda is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way. Freda is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents, Fred and Freda Lintz; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Graveside Committal will be at Filer Cemetery at 11:00 A.M, Friday, July 24, 2015. A Celebration of Freda's life will follow at Peace Lutheran Church in Filer on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. Pastor Paul Johnson will be officiating.
