Kay J Bartlett

December 25, 1935 — May 27, 2015

Kay Janet Bartlett, 79, Twin Falls, passed away on May 27, 2015 at Twin Falls Care Center. She was born December 25, 1935 in Idaho Falls to Thomas Martin Hanson and Ida LaVon (Olson) Hanson. She was in the first graduating class of the new Twin Falls High School, located on Filer Avenue East in 1954. Kay married, actually eloped with, Robert W. Bartlett on July 3, 1955 in Elko, Nevada. They were married 48 years, until his passing in 2004. She worked for RCA in California and later for Sears & Roebuck in Twin Falls where she was in charge of creating eye catching window displays and gift wrapping. Kay then became an "Avon Lady" and sold Avon for over 30 years. Yet first and foremost, she was a stay at home and was a good mother, a caring grandmother, and a patient great-grandmother. For instance, she never complained when her great grandchildren would accidentally break one of her cherished collectibles. Kay loved being an Avon Lady, it gave her many opportunities to visit and talk to people, she had "a gift of the gab" and loved to socialize with friends. Kay and Robert loved to play cards and go dancing. They attended nearly all of the Elk Lodge Dances. She loved to collect tassles, music boxes and catalog shop. She was considered very "artsy" and was good at creating various crafts and flower arrangements. Kay was always described as the kooky, funny, crazy, nutty and hilarious person by family and friends. There was a double rainbow over her home the evening she died. She is survived by a son; Troy Bartlett; a daughter, Terri (Roger) Moore ; two grandchildren, Stephanie Moore and Jennifer (Karl) Ruprecht, and three great grandchildren. Kay is preceded in death by her parents; husband; Robert Bartlett; a brother; Tom Hanson; and sisters, Vicki Keliner, Veronna Day, and Themma Purser. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 2 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. Visitation will be held the night prior, on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 5 PM to 7 Pm at Parke's Funeral Home. Online condolences may be submitted to www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com.
