Haskell Walker Carr October 26, 1923 - May 11, 2015 Haskell Walker Carr, 91, passed away after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer. He was at home on his farm Monday morning, May 11, 2015 surrounded by family. Walker was born October 26, 1923 and raised in Twin Falls, ID and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1941. He was drafted into the Army in 1943 as a private. He served in the Pacific in the Anti-Tank Company, 165th Infantry during WWII, spending time on Saipan and Okinawa (among others). Walker served two and a half years and was honorably discharged November 29, 1945 as a T5 Technician Corporal. He continued on to machinist school at Krengels with the promise of a good job at Boeing. The job turned out to be simply a "bucker" (riveter) - far from the machinist job he'd hoped for. This brought him back to Twin Falls to work as a "hod carrier" preparing the mud for many of the homes in the Presidential section of Twin Falls. After a brief stint at a watch-maker school in Coeur d'Alene, ID, the spring air called Walker home to work on the family farm. He married the love of his life, Jean, on November 7, 1948. In 1963, the couple bought their farm, Rim Rock Ranch, along Rock Creek which became their pride and joy. Walker and Jean were married 67 years. Walker was preceded in death by two brothers and one great-grandson. He is survived by his wife Jean, sister June Smith(Texas), daughters Sandra (Rex) Kiser, Kathy (Bill) Groves, son Ronald (Peggy) Carr, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 14 from 5:30p.m. - 7:00p.m. at Parke's Funeral Home. The celebration of life will be held Friday at 2:00p.m., also at Parke's Funeral Home.
