Pfc. Duane Allen Rittenhouse, 23 stationed at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas passed away unexpectedly April 27, 2015. Duane was born January 6, 1992 in Billings, Montana. In May, 2011 he graduated from Filer High School and then took a job with Logan's market. He worked there until 2013 when he enlisted with the Cavalry Scouts and was sent to Fort Benning for basic training. He then transferred to Fort Lee, Virginia and then to Fort Bliss where he resided until his death. In his spare time, Duane enjoyed drawing, singing and playing his guitar. He was a merciless tease who loved to see people laugh. In fact he would go to great lengths to embarrass himself if he thought it would make someone else laugh. In true little brother form, he loved to torture his big sister Deb and give her a bad time. Everywhere he went, Duane made friends easily, but no one carried a bigger place in his heart than his nephew Carlos Gutierrez, a.k.a. Charlie, or "Washaw". When he wasn't with his dad or his sister, you could usually find Duane hanging out with Carlos. Duane was proud of his military service and it meant the world to him that he was able to follow his dream to serve his country. Surviving Duane is his father, Duane Rittenhouse of Twin Falls, Idaho; sisters, Deb Gutierrez of Twin Falls, Idaho; Carmen Johnson of Sidney, Montana; and Phoebe Rittenhouse of Sheridan, Wyoming; twin brother, Donald Rittenhouse of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother, Daniel Rittenhouse of Sheridan, Wyoming; two uncles, Henry Lopez and Robert Lopez, both of Riverton, Wyoming; and nephews, Carlos Gutierrez and Aiden Baldwin. Visitation for Duane will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID.
