Shannon Wasko

July 16, 1954 — April 16, 2015

Shannon Benita Wasko, age 60, passed peacefully at her beloved home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, April 16th, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. Shannon was born July 26th, 1954, in Jerome, Idaho to Benjamin Lee and Alice Ruth (Olson) Briggs. She attended Twin Falls High School and graduated in 1973. She then married Barry Heck and with this union she had two beautiful children, her son Benjamin and daughter, Emily. They were later divorced. On September 15, 1989, Shannon married her heart and soul, best friend and the love of her life, Tony Wasko and to this union, their son Samuel Wasko was born. Shannon lived and worked in the Twin Falls area for the majority of her life. She spent nearly the last decade using her beautiful talents, love, patience and kindness, working for the Twin Falls School District as a behavioral specialist with special needs children. She adored her students and her job. She was an active member of the Catholic Church, an avid golfer, she loved camping, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Her children were her pride and joy. She loved and adored them more than anything. Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing this woman was and how much our hearts will break, every day without her beautiful smile and comical personality to look forward to. She was always there for everyone. We will forever carry her beautiful spirit in our hearts. Please remember; I love you more She is survived by her husband, Tony Wasko; children, Emily Cooper and Samuel Wasko, daughter-in-law Richelle Heck; Mother, Alice Briggs; Sister, Ivy Sherburne (Mark) five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Shannon was preceded in death by her Son, Benjamin Heck; Father, Benjamin Briggs; Sister, Sherry Fulkerson, granddaughter, Kendall Cooper; and mother and father in laws, Avis and Ted Wasko. There will be a viewing Tuesday evening, April 21st at 6:00 p.m. At Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, followed by Rosary at 7:30. Funeral services will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Followed by graveside services at The Twin Falls Cemetery and dinner at the Parish Hall.
