Clyde H. Dwight Sr.

December 14, 1948 — March 27, 2015

The world moves in an always repeating, never ending circle. Day becomes night, summer becomes fall, and a birth begins a journey that inevitably must come to an end. On the sunny afternoon of March 27, 2015 Clyde Harvey "Skip" Dwight Sr., 66, passed away quietly, but not alone, at his home in Twin Falls. On December 14, 1948 in Pampa, Texas, Clyde became the firstborn child of David Earl Dwight and Bobbie Jean (Sharp) Dwight. He was later joined by a sister in 1950 and a brother in 1955. He graduated in 1968 from Richardson High School, Richardson Texas where he played on the football team. Experiencing bumps, potholes and detours along life's highway, he made a choice to change direction and sought to become a better man. He had a big heart and he loved people! In 1974 he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where he met and married Anitta "Nita" Jones. They moved to Dallas TX in 1975 and then to Rupert, ID in 1976 where Clyde worked with his father-in-law, Leroy Jones, building houses and other facilities in southern Idaho. Having fallen in love with Rupert, it was here that they decided to raise their family. They attended the Rupert United Pentecostal Church where Clyde taught Sunday School and he and Nita worked with the youth group. On July 19, 1976 Clyde Harvey "CJ" Jr. was born and on August 22, 1979 David Lee was born. He never wavered in his love for his children, and later for his grandchildren.. Clyde had many jobs during his lifetime, beginning with newspaper delivery as a young boy. He worked in the oil fields of Texas, was a Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman, a TV repairman, had various odd jobs over time, and was a carpenter and builder. Higher education degrees were obtained through the College of Southern Idaho and Idaho State University in Computer Sciences and Electronics in the late 1980's which allowed Clyde to begin a career within the Information Technology (IT) field. He worked as a Bio-Med Technician at Cassia Hospital in Burley ID and at St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls ID. He was an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Rupert, and was a qualified EMT First Responder Instructor. From 1991 - 2003 he served as a firefighter for Rupert City Fire & Rescue and was also qualified to teach Essentials of Fire Fighting; was a founding member and participant of the Magic Valley Emergency Response Team (MVERT), which later became the Regional Response Team for Region 5 (RRT5) for which he was a Team Leader providing instruction, guidance, and management of the team; was trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) conducting group and individual sessions; was a Hazardous-Materials (Haz-Mat) Technician and responded to many incidents involving hazardous materials in the Magic Valley area of southern Idaho; he was also trained in Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). Clyde worked for several years as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist for Idaho Department of Health & Welfare; was an IT and Haz-Mat Specialist for Idaho Transportation Department (ITD); and worked with the Haz-Mat Operations for the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security (BHS). In 2005 in Twin Falls, Idaho, Clyde married Glenda (Lapp) Thompson. Having more than enough love to share, he instantly gained a daughter, Cindy, and granddaughter, Cassandra "Cassie." To both of them, he was affectionately referred to as Pappa Clyde. Since 2007 Clyde was a member of the Twin Falls Masonic Lodge 45. Being a Dallas Cowboys fan, he rarely missed a game. Clyde was always at home on the river and loved white water rafting, camping and Idaho nature. He couldn't turn down a cold beer, often working on friend's computers for only a beer and pizza as payment. Clyde is survived by his son Clyde Jr. "CJ" of Heyburn, ID; step-daughter, Cindy Lapp of Eaton, CO; grandchildren John Michael and Colton Allen Dwight of Rupert, ID; Kendall Clyde Dwight of Tooele, UT; Cassie Raymond and family of Douglassville, PA; mother, Bobbie Dwight of Coleman TX; sister, Delores Barnett of Stephenville, TX; former wives Anitta Tallon of Paul, ID and Glenda Thompson of Twin Falls, ID; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his son David in 2004; father in 2006; his brother David "Allen" in 1993; grandparents Clyde O. Dwight, Leana Ruth (Gray) Dwight, Harvey Sharp, Thelma (Gardner) Sharp.
