Dennis Dale Albers, 72 of Hollister, Idaho, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 with his family by his side. Dennis was the youngest of four children born to Theodore (Ted) and Florence (Golter) Albers on January 10, 1943 in Campbell, Nebraska. His siblings are; Jerry and Jean Albers of Campbell, NE, Barnell and Sue Albers of Greenville, SC, and Beverly and Vern Farley of Twin Fall, ID Dennis and his parents moved to Twin Falls in 1950. He later attended Twin Falls High School where he met the love of his life, LaVonne Sherrets. They were married later in 1963 and spent an amazing 52 years together. Dennis is a proud American and joined the Air Force right out of high school in 1962, where he served his country during the Vietnam War until 1966. Dennis and LaVonne had three children; John Albers of Twin Falls, ID, Melissa Albers - Miller (Todd) of Hollister, ID, and Candace Carter (Daniel), of Jerome, ID; and five amazing grandchildren that he cherished and loved very much; Megan Albers, Megan Miller, Trenton Miller, Kadi Carter and Maci Carter. He worked at the College of Southern Idaho as a Security Officer for 22 years where he took early retirement in January 1995 due to an injury. He loved the outdoors and taught his family the same. Many summers were spent taking his kids, friends, and family members hunting, fishing and camping. In more recent years, he joined the Southern Idaho Muzzleloaders Association and loved the time he spent with friends camping and shooting black powder guns. He was also a long time member of the Twin Falls Monarch Lions Club where he received the prestigious Melvin Jones Award. Dennis was in and out of the hospitals from Nampa to Twin Falls for the last 5 months, as he was fighting to come home to the love of his life and family. It was a brave fight and there were some amazing people the family met along the way. The list is long and there are too many to thank individually. The family would like to thank all the kind hearts and wonderful spirits that cared for Dennis. He finally came home to the Twin Falls Care Center; where the staff and Idaho Home Hospice, made him feel welcome and loved. It was there, where he passed in peace. Dennis is preceded in death by both parents; an older brother, Jerry Albers of Campbell, NE, and a brother - in- law Melvin Gemar of Twin Falls, ID. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2055 Filer Ave E, Twin Falls. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 30, 2015 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
