Glenn Russell Cawley (55) was taken from us suddenly March 12, 2015. Born on June 26, 1959 in Wilkinsburg, PA, son of a career Naval Officer, Glenn traveled widely with his family, living in Penn Hills, PA; Norfolk, VA; Athens, GA; Lakewood, CA; Scotia, NY; Yokosuka, Japan; New London, CT; and Virginia Beach, VA. He graduated in 1979 from Princess Ann High School in Virginia Beach, VA, and then served in the US Navy as a Storekeeper Third-Class aboard the USS Harry E. Yarnell (CG-17), operating in the eastern North Atlantic, followed by duty aboard the USS Opportune (AR-41), operating in the Mediterranean. After four years of active service, he was honorably discharged. He spent time in Maryland working for Rexel for seventeen years. While in Maryland he met his wife Lillian, they were married on May 9, 1998. They later moved to Colorado, and then eventually settled in Twin Falls, ID. Glenn was a student of the College of Southern Idaho, studying for his Business Degree, and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He was a very devoted father and a tender-hearted soul who loved his cats and was compassionate to all animals great and small. He enjoyed coin, stamp and model collecting and restoring vintage automobiles. Glenn was also proud to be a life member of the NRA. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Roy Raymond Cawley and stepson Ronald Kershaw. He is survived by his parents, Russell and Carolyn Cawley of Idaho Falls; wife, Lillian; daughter, Rachel, step-son, Loren Regan, and his son Gabe Regan; sister, Nancy Cawley Mayhan and her husband Miguel Mayhan of Seattle, Washington; and sister, Edie Cawley of Mantua, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10 AM at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. The family request those attending feel free to dress casual and after the service do something you love to do in celebration of the things he loves to do. In lieu of flowers, please send donations on Glenn's behalf to your local or favorite non-kill animal shelter. Glenn will be returned to the Cosmos, home to us all.
