Clair Demer

October 21, 1931 — March 2, 2015

Clair DeLoy Demer passed away at home March 2, 2015. He was born October 21, 1931 in Ucon, ID to Norman and Rozella Demer. Clair lived much of his life in Murtaugh ID and graduated from Murtaugh High school in 1949. Following graduation, Clair served in the army. He was stationed in Japan as part of the occupational forces Counter Intelligence Department. After his military service he attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. Clair's career with the US government in the Federal Aviation Administration radar installation department provided opportunity for extensive travel within the US and internationally. During this time, he lived and worked in Alaska, San Francisco, Denver, Salt Lake City, Beirut, and other locations. Since his retirement, Clair lived in Murtaugh in the winter and spent summers in Stanley ID, where he built a cabin for all his family to enjoy. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Muriel Demer of Twin Falls, ID, and a sister and brother-in-law, LaRayne and Bert Hulet of Bountiful, UT. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. The family would like to thank and acknowledge Annie Olsen, a friend and neighbor, for the care, concern, and support she provided to Clair. He was a kind, quietly compassionate man who is deeply missed by his family and friends and will always be in our hearts. There will be no public service as Clair will be cremated per his request, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home. The family will gather in Stanley this summer to celebrate his life. Online condolences can be submitted to www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com
