James Norman Hollon

James Norman Hollon, 73 of Hansen, Idaho passed away February 9, 2015 at his home in Hansen, Idaho. He was born May 5, 1941 in Twin Falls, Idaho the son of James Norman and Inez Dora Enoch Hollon. He grew up with his six brothers and sisters living in various locations around the Magic Valley, such as Eden, Hansen, and Filer, ID. He attended Valley High School in Eden and then also attended high school in Hansen, ID. On April 14, 1960, Jim entered the Navy where he would serve the next five years and on June 7, 1964, he married the love of his life, Virginia Krick Hollon and they were together and in love for 36 years. Upon his return from the Navy, Jim and Virginia set up housekeeping in Missouri, Kansas, and then returned to Twin Falls, finally settling in Hansen Idaho in 1974 and Jim has remained there till his death. During his life, Jim built trailers in Kansas, built pole and metal buildings, worked in his mom's bar in Twin Falls, worked for the mink farm in Filer, he worked for the Leonard Dawe farm in Hansen, Idaho; and then worked for Lamb Weston until his retirement. Jim was a good man who loved his family deeply and when he had time shared his hobbies of hunting and fishing with them. Surviving Jim are his children, son, James Hollon of Twin Falls, ID; daughter Patty Maxim of Jerome, ID; daughter Tammy (Dennis) Severa of Filer, ID; son Charles(Waynette) Hollon of Twin Falls, ID; and daughter, Peggy (David) Slinger of Twin Falls, ID. and one adopted daughter, Angel Dover of Twin Falls; Two brothers, Terry (Linda) White of Bountiful, UT, and Larry (Sue) Hollon of Glenns Ferry, ID; 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 4 adopted grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Hollon, daughter Sherri Nelson, sisters, Patricia Parker, & Carol Patrick Colfack, brothers, Dave Hollon, & Billy Hollon, parents James Sr. & Inez Hollon, and two grandsons Brandon John Severa and Michael James Nelson. He will be much loved and missed by his caregiver Ilene Stainger and his friend and roommate, Kenny Stainger. Visitation for Jim will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID. Funeral services for Jim will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Twin Falls Idaho. A dinner following Interment will be held at the Snake River Valley Elks lodge at 4:00 PM. All services arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
