Linda Vergene Phillips, 66, of Boise, passed away with her loving family by her side on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise. She was suffering from diabetic kidney failure. She was born on January 14, 1949 in Salmon, Idaho, the daughter of Joseph Lamoni "Mone" Parke and Ramona "Jean" Vergene (Malcolm) Parke. Linda was raised in Salmon and graduated from Salmon High School class of 1967. She went on to attend Idaho State University. On May 17, 1973 she married James A. Phillips in Elko, Nevada. Linda worked hard her entire life. She waitressed in many restaurants, worked as a cocktail waitress, CNA, food processor and her final job was as a financial aid associate at Boise State University. She often held down two jobs to provide for her family. In 1988, she was involved in a car accident while vacationing to the Oregon Coast. This injury disabled her for the rest of her life and she was no longer able to work. She had a love for her family, especially her grandchildren, Elizabeth Parke and Sebastian Phillips. When she could she loved to hunt, cook for her family, work with ceramics, embroider, solve word and number puzzles and always was taking in stray animals. Linda also loved to do many crafts, her latest endeavor was creating beautiful Christmas wreaths. This last Christmas she made several that she donated to her granddaughter's school fund raiser, and gave as family gifts. Her last request was that her direct family and her dog Chemo be with her on her final day. She will be remembered for a high spirited person who always spoke her mind no matter what others thought. When she believed in something she would let you know and there was no wavering on how she felt. Linda also enjoyed traveling whenever possible. She spent many hours driving to and from Twin Falls and Boise assisting her son in his funeral business, and constantly picking up her granddaughter so that they could have adventures. She and her family enjoyed trips to the Oregon Coast, Disney Land, Hawaii, and three ocean cruises. Surviving Linda is her husband Jim Phillips of Boise, son - Tony Phillips (Charity Moore) of Boise, Son - Mike (Catherine) Parke of Twin Falls, grandson - Sebastian Landon James Phillips of Boise, and Elizabeth Jean Anne Parke of Twin Falls.
