James Robert Wilson, 63, of Kimberly, passed away on January 29, 2015 in Twin Falls. He was born September 2, 1951, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Robert and Mildred Wilson, the third of four children. After graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1969, he studied Architecture at Idaho State University. He then returned to Twin Falls to join the family woodworking business, Wilson's Planing Mill, which he would eventually take over after the passing of his father in 1976. On July 28, 1972, he married the love of his life Jeanne- a marriage that would last 42 years. They welcomed two boys, Joshua Grover Wilson and Michael Robert Wilson. After his family, Jim's love was music. He was a member of the Twin Falls Municipal Band for 46 years, playing the tenor saxophone, and a member of the Magic Valley Symphony, playing the bassoon. Books were also a passion of Jim's, as seen in the extensive library in his home. A large portion of that library is made up of an impressive collection of books on the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, Jim's favorite architect and a major influence on his style of woodworking. One of the greatest honors of his life was building cabinetry and finish work for a renovation of the the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in Idaho, Teater's Knoll, located in Hagerman. Up until the months preceding his death, Jim continued to make cabinetry from a small shop at his home. He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne; his son Joshua and his wife Jessica of Nampa; his son Michael and his wife Nikki of Twin Falls; and his mother Mildred of Twin Falls. He is remembered by his eight loving grandchildren: Max, Tristan, Sophia, Jackson, Jaymes, Natalie, Garrett, and Hallie. He also leaves his aunt Ruth Lindgren of Twin Falls; brother John and his wife Marta of Kent, WA; a sister Marge Russell and her husband Richard of Kimberly; and his sister Susan of Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his father Robert. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the First Baptist Church located at 910 Shoshone Street in Twin Falls. Following Jim's wishes, causal attire with lively colors is requested and no ties please. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the James R. Wilson Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund c/o Twin Falls Municipal Band at First Federal Bank to benefit youth in music. Additionally, it would be Jim's wish that any unneeded music instruments are brought to the celebration for donation to youth in need. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
