Laura May Galloway, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away in Boise on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Laura May was born November 22, 1921, in Rockland, Idaho to John and Elizabeth Thorne. She lived in Twin Falls for more than 60 years. Laura May married Garth Galloway on September 7, 1942, in the Logan Utah Temple. She graduated from Albion State Normal Teaching College, and taught first grade for 34 years in the Twin Falls area. She enjoyed teaching the grandchildren of students she had taught previously. Laura May was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and had the opportunity to serve in many ways. Laura May and Garth served two 18 month missions for the LDS Church to Singapore. They spent most of that time in India and Sri Lanka in mission service. Laura May is survived by her three sons, Chad, Karl, and Lynn; 16 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven brothers, granddaughter, and great-grandson. Her gravesite service will be held at 1:30 at the Twin Falls Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, from 11:00-1:00. The family suggests that any memorials be given to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
