Shirley Ann Webb

December 5, 1925 — December 3, 2014

Shirley Ann Walker Webb Shirley was born December 5, 1925 in American Falls, Idaho and passed away December 3, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona with her loving caregivers, grandson Kenton and wife Tina at her side. In her early years she lived with her family in different locations in southern Idaho and northern Nevada as her father moved with Safeway Foods. As youngsters, she and her brothers often spent summers visiting their grandparents in the American Falls area. During the World War II era, Shirley attended school in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High school in 1943. Shirley married Rex Wells shortly after his return from his Marine Corp service in the Pacific theatre. In May of 1947 their daughter Kacky was born in Twin Falls and they made their home there. Rex was called back into service during the Korean conflict and Shirley and Kacky moved to southern California for a time. The family was reunited in early 1952 and returned to Twin Falls. In May of 1953 their son Brock was born in Twin Falls. Shirley and Rex were divorced in 1957. In 1958 Shirley married Weston K. Webb of Twin Falls and the following year their son Kevin was born in Twin Falls. Shirley worked as a clerk for the Twin Falls County Treasurer through 1971 when Weston moved the family to American Falls and Shirley worked for the Power County Treasurer until 1980 when she became the bookkeeper for Webb Tractor Co. Other business enterprises kept Shirley and Weston busy for the next 15 years until they returned to Twin Falls and Shirley retired. They made their home in the Twin Falls area until Weston's death in 2011 at which time Shirley went to Alaska to be with Kacky. She was never to fond of cold weather and decided to travel to Arizona to be near to Kevin and stay with grandson Kenton, his wife Tina, and great grandson Leo. Shirley loved her family and often took the older grandchildren to Grandma's for their special time with her. She involved herself in the campaign and election of Senator Frank Church during the decade of the 60's and always had a love for her country. She was an accomplished seamstress and when time permitted would knit and crochet. She will be missed for sense of fairness, honesty and love of family. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Deanna Walker, older brother Sherwood, and husband Weston. She is survived by two brothers, Dean Walker of Salmon, Idaho and Gene Walker of St. George, Utah; her children, Kacky Wells of Fairbanks Alaska, Brock (Tyra) Wells of Basin City, Washington, and Kevin ( Barbara) Webb of Tucson, Arizona as well as 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Shirley's graveside memorial will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1 PM at the Twin Falls City Cemetery under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.
