Frances Ormond Buhler (90) of Filer, Idaho, passed away in her home on Saturday November 22, 2014. She was born the 5th child of Francis and Delia Ormond on September 1, 1924 in Pocatello, Idaho. Frances was raised to value family and to understand sacrifice and responsibility. Frances eloped and married her sweetheart, Orson Jay Buhler, on September 26, 1941 after their very first date. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, LDS temple. They enjoyed 71 wonderful years of marriage together here on earth. She and Jay spend their early years in the Montpelier area of Idaho while Jay worked for the railroad, taught school, and raised sheep, all with Frances by his side. They raised five children while moving several times between Idaho and Oregon before finally settling in Twin Falls. They built their dream home with the help of their two sons just outside of Filer in 1975 where they both spent the rest of their lives. In her lifetime Frances was a constant student, always learning about and trying new things. The latest and greatest inventions in technology were some of her favorite things. Sewing, using the computer, and taking photos with her camera everywhere she could, were some of her greatest joys. Frances also had a passion for travel which took her many places including China, Israel, Switzerland, and Egypt. Family was important to her and she was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and supported and encouraged them in any way she could. Frances was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church callings over the years. She loved her church and her Heavenly Father and is known for her vast library of LDS books, magazines, videos, historical articles, and other keepsakes she collected within her home. Frances was proceeded in death by her father and mother Francis and Delia Ormond, her brother Newman Ormond, sisters Elsie Fowler, Georgia Matthews, Clover Powell, daughter Elaine Joy Holmes, sons Dennis and Twayne Buhler, and her beloved husband Jay. She is survived by her sisters Inis (Bill) Turner of Culver City, CA, Iris Hansen of Meridian, ID, Ruth (Ralph) Olsen of Pocatello, ID, two daughters Linda Dorgan of Twin Falls, Ellen (Jim) Fischer of Anthem, AZ, daughter-in-law Jeanine Buhler of Filer, as well as her many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always hold a special place for her in their hearts.
