Red grew up in Hazelton, Idaho and attended school there. He joined the United States Army in 1970 and proudly served his country fighting the war in Vietnam. Red loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time fishing, hunting, and camping. He worked a number of different jobs and at one timed owned his own chemical application business. He especially enjoyed his co-workers and working with the public managing the Twin Falls County transfer station. Red is the father of three beautiful daughters; Charly (Charles) McCaslin- Hughes of Joplin, MO; Katie McCaslin-Greer of Vancouver, WA; and Jennifer (Michael) John of Burley. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Cliff and Charlie McCaslin. Red was known and loved by a huge number of people in the community. A good friend described him as "larger than life". He brought a smile to so many faces throughout his life. He reminds us to "Live your life so that you carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. Your legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you."
