Donald Harvey Hooper beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on October 14th. He has joyfully rejoined his parents, one brother, and one sister on the other side. Donald was born in Gilmer, Texas on November 21st, 1930 to Earley Belle and William Harvey Hooper. He grew up in Gilmer and Star Valley, Wyoming. He worked as a ranch hand and became an excellent horseman. In 1949, he joined the US Navy and served on a ship as an engineman during the Korean Conflict. After service he returned to Ogden, Utah where he met the love of his life Clixie Murdock and they were married on March 26th, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple. He has been devoted to her for 60 years. He loved his family of 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. After his military service he attended Utah State University, earned a BS degree in Forestry, and joined the US Forest Service where he served as a district ranger, supervisor, and range staff officer in the Ogden regional offices. His career took him to the most beautiful settings in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. He was a protector of wildlife and an environmental steward. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a high priest, worked in Sunday School, was a member of the bishopric, and a Twin Falls Temple worker. He was preceded in death by his mother Earley Belle his father William his brother Bob, and his sister Cheryl. He is survived by his wife Clixie and his children Don Jr., Diane, and Lisa.
