Sally Ann Minor

November 17, 1927 — October 3, 2014

Sally Ann Minor passed away peacefully at Bridgeview Estates in Twin Falls, Idaho October 3, 2014 after more than seven years with Alzheimer. She was born on November 17, 1927 in Fairmount, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Dan McMullen and by her brother Terrance McMullen of Reno, Nevada. Sally attended the University of Idaho where she received an associate degree in grade school education and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She met Brad Minor when she was teaching second grade in Idaho Falls. They were married in Boise on December 27, 1949 and honeymooned in Sun Valley. They remained man and wife for nearly 65 years. Brad cared for Sally throughout her illness on a daily basis until the end. They lived in Idaho Falls for 24 years, moved to Hailey in 1973, and later moved to Hagerman after retirement. Sally was a stylish skier, a helluva good golfer and raised her children to have a passion and appreciation for all outdoor activities. She was chauffeur for after school events, hostess for Fod's Wednesday evening golf foursome, with hors d'oeuvres and drinks on the patio and Henry Mancini or Tony Bennett playing softly on the record player. They shared a mutual passion for music and would often dance to their favorite songs until late in the night. Her house was always clean and three meals a day were on the table for Fod and the kids. She enjoyed finding real estate bargains and transforming them into gems for her family to enjoy. A cabin at Palisades Reservoir was the first and later on another at Magic Reservoir. What a special time for all of us during those years. She is survived by her husband Brad and their five children; Bill Minor, Patsy (Minor) Nickum, Amy (Minor) Sherman, Matt Minor and Hank Minor, seven grandchildren; Christian Nickum, Megan (Nickum) Stevenson, Carter Minor, Cameron Minor, Lani Minor, Wyatt Minor and Tatum Minor and four great grandchildren; Maddox and Sydney Nickum and Briggs and Lucy Stevenson. Her ashes will be scattered from an airplane and float down on Magic Reservoir to lay at rest. These beautiful surroundings were a favorite of hers. A grandson will pilot the plane and Fod and the others will be aboard for the ceremony. Not sad, just missing Sally. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation http://www.alzfdn.org The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the fine people at Bridgeview Estates for their support over the last eight years and in her final days.
