Raymond Thomas "Ray" Galvin returned to the Lord after a short illness. Ray was born in Wilmar, California to Raymond and Leone Balcom Galvin. After graduating from high school and attending college he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1948. Ray travelled on Navy ships to several countries in the Pacific including Japan, Taiwan, and China. He served in Korea during the war and was then stationed in Hawthorne, Nevada before receiving an honorable discharge in 1952. Ray worked in California before marrying Betty McNutt and moving to Idaho. They later divorced. He married Helen Meyer in January 1975. Ray enjoyed model railroading and was a member of the Magic Valley Model Railroaders Club in Filer for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patty, and brother Bill. Ray is survived by his wife Helen; sons Michael Galvin (Cindy) and Patrick Galvin (Raquel), four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and step children Becky Meyer Williams (Bob), John Meyer (Sandee), and Jim Meyer; five step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.
