Lorna Moon Holloway passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on September 2, 2014 after an on-and-off courageous battle with cancer. Lorna was born in Declo, Idaho on January 22, 1951 to Charles John and Afton Wilkins Moon. She was the fourth of five children. She attended school in Declo where she was a good student, had many friends and participated in many activities including drill team, which she loved. She graduated with honors from high school and went on to Ricks College, Brigham Young University, and Idaho State University where she studied education and fine arts. While attending Ricks College, she was a member of the Vikadettes drill team and traveled all throughout the Northwest, which helped to encourage her love of travel. She was working as a waitress in Burley, Idaho, during summer break from Idaho State. While there, with a nudge from his oldest sister Lavern, Charles Holloway, who was then a wild, hairy, dangerous hot-rodding Mustang-driving man, spotted Lorna and he loved her at first sight. With much time and careful consideration, Lorna gave in to his Southern charm. They fell in love and were eventually married. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 3, 1973. They had been married for 41 years. They began their family with Chandra, Travis, Stacy, Dixie and Nikki, their beautiful and talented children. They lived many years in Idaho, then Louisiana, where Charlie had grown up. They later moved home to Idaho where they have resided since 1997. Lorna was a professional artist who had a gift for bringing life to painted form on canvas. She won many awards and prestigious contests. Many homes and businesses have had her wonderful landscapes gracing their walls. She later studied to become a graphic artist. She was a perfectionist in her work and a stickler for meticulous detail. She was also a talented seamstress and crafter, who always had a project going for someone. She enjoyed the great outdoors and traveling in her later years with Charlie. They spent time with their children in Tennessee, and Louisiana and traveled to England to spend time with Markus and Dixie. During her visit there, she was able to visit Rome, which moved her beyond measure to see works by the famous Masters. They spent their summers in Riggins, playing and living in the great outdoors, enjoying each other and the beauty that is Idaho. Lorna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great example of love, generosity, kindness and acceptance. She and Charlie managed to raise five children who all turned out to be great individuals. Her favorite job was that of Grammy. She loved hearing little voices and the pitter patter of tiny feet. Grandchildren spent many precious hours in Grammys lap or by her side creating new and exciting things of wonder. Her pride was her family and she enjoyed reunions where they would all get together and spend the time laughing, singing and loving each other. Lorna was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Allen and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband Charlie of Twin Falls; her children, Chandra Holloway of Twin Falls, Travis (Raegan) Holloway of Knoxville, Tennessee; Stacy (Josh) Hutchinson of Baton Rouge, LA; Dixie (Markus) Provo, Utah; and Nikki Holloway of Twin Falls; her beloved grandchildren, Grace, Jack, Luke, Ayden, Ian, Afton, Vera, Violet, Victoria, and Taryn; Brother Leonard, sisters Patty and Marilyn (Cory) Franks. As a virtuous woman, full of selflessness and great faith she will live on through the legacy she has left for each of us and continue to illuminate the heavens and manifest her own beauty throughout eternity.
