January 16, 1946 — August 8, 2014

Rex Newton On August 8, 2014, Rex Jerden Newton Seniors' spirit left his broken body to be with the Lord. His loving family was by his side. Rex was born to William Newton and Estella Owings Newton January 16, 1946 in Prescott Arizona. He attended school in Bagdad, Arizona where he excelled at football, baseball and rodeo. His name still adorns the hallways of the school. After graduation, he went on to be a champion team roper, acquiring several trophy saddles and buckles along the way He married his best friend and soul mate Phyllis Olearain Newton, August 1, 1992. They enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. They spent their time side by side, hand in hand, heart and soul. Rex was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother ,Bill Newton and sister, Glenda King and sister-in-law, Glenda Newton. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Phyllis, sons Rex (Denise) Newton, John (Michelle) Gebhart, daughters, Tahna (Brett) Barton, Mary Ann (John) Steele, Carmen (Michael Hinton) Quijada, brothers, Bob (Nancy) Newton, Lester (Tracy) Newton, Kenneth Newton and sister, Verle Nichols, brother in law, Johnny (Launa) Olearain, sister -in- law, Elaine (Carl Clemens) Stewart. He left many loving grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Fewer men were loved more than Rex. His wife Phyllis cared and supported him throughout his long battle with cancer. She ensured he had the best care and comfort at all times. His love for her is undying. He remains in her heart until they meet again, where he waits, just beyond the moon. Memorial Services for Rex will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Our family wishes to thank Huntsman Cancer institute, Visions Hospice and the wonderful ladies from the CASA Program for their care, love and support during this time.
