Edith Keppner, 101, Twin Falls, passed away August 2, 2014 at Heritage of Twin Falls. She was born on April, 9, 1913 near Ririe, Idaho to Niels and Anna Marie (Knutson) Top. Edith lived in a one room log cabin and later moved into a two room house. She attended school for one year at Butler Island and spent the next seven years in Ririe. After finishing school, she worked at the seed house in Ririe for one year. She also worked at the seed house in Rigby and worked as a housekeeper for the Miller family. Edith married Weldon W. Keppner on October 27, 1935 in Dubois, Idaho. She became a housewife and the mother of four children; Wilma, Leo and twins- Verna and Verla. They lived in Rigby, Lewisville, Leadore, The East Fork of the Salmon River and Pahsimeroi for 25 years. The family then moved to Ronan, Montana until returning to the Rigby, area in 1982. Edith lost her husband in 1991 and stayed with her children and sister for a while. She then bought a house in Rigby and stayed there until 1997, whereupon she moved to Twin Falls to be closest to her eldest daughter. She lived in her own home until December, 2009 when she moved into assisted living. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and crocheting. Edith is survived by her children; Wilma Urrizaga of Twin Falls, Verna Hamilton of Plains, Montana and Verla Harvie of Challis, Idaho. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Weldon Keppner; a son, Leo D. Keppner; and two great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. Graveside services for Edith will be held at 2pm, Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Rigby Pioneer cemetery in Rigby Idaho under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.
