Robert Loyd Hyde, 72 of Twin Falls, passed away July 26, 2014 in Twin Falls. He was born on December 16, 1941 in Boise, Idaho, the son of Cecil and Nona (Dayley) Hyde. The family lived in Star, Idaho for a few years and then relocated to Jerome, Idaho, where he attended school. On June 25, 1961 he married Janet Casto in Gooding, Idaho. To this union were born six sons. They later divorced. He then married Norma Corder on October 12, 2001 in Twin Falls. Robert worked as a truck driver on and off throughout his life. Early on, he drove potato truck and hauled cattle from Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. In the late 60's he was a prison guard at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, Washington. Robert wore many hats including being a bakery Manager for Safeway Grocery in Twin Falls. He then became a business owner, operating the Union 76 Gas Station on Kimberly Road in addition to owning an apartment complex, an automotive distributorship and a trailer park on West Addison. Robert had a love of playing on his john Deere Tractor. He enjoyed nature and spending time with his family and was one with nature. His daily routine was to go to the Depot Grill and Norms to have coffee with his friends. Robert enjoyed long walks and collecting rocks which he used in landscaping his yard. He also collected old cars. He is survived by his wife - Norma of Twin Falls, sons - Eddie Hyde of Nampa, Quintin Hyde of Buhl, Brett Hyde of Buhl, Tony Hyde of Buhl, Bill (Julie) Hyde of Meridian, Idaho, and Todd (JaLynn) Hyde of Nampa, Idaho, Brothers - Raymond (Donna) Hyde of Pocatello, William (Betty) Hyde of Idaho Falls, Gary (Mary) Hyde of Mesa, Arizona, Jim (Teresa) Hyde of Boise, sisters - Gloria (Kit) John of Gooding, Carol (Monty) Shobe of Meridian, Helen Pohlman of Twin Falls, Patricia (James) Jones of Twin Falls, along with 17 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Johnny. Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, with Pastor John Babb officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
