Norma Laura Ruhter September 12, 1921 - July 17, 2014 On September 12, 1921, Norma was born to Harrison and Ollie Griffith of Twin Falls, Idaho. She passed away on July 17, 2014 at the Evergreen Place Assisted Living in Buhl, Idaho. Norma grew up on the family farm with her two brothers Lloyd and Beryl and nephew Carl. In 1939, she graduated from Twin Falls High School and attended the Albion State Normal School. She married her "Sweetheart" Devon "Bud" Ruhter Sr. on June 30, 1942. They purchased a farm in the Buhl/Castleford area where they raised crops and operated a small dairy. In 1975, Devon and Norma moved the farm in Twin Falls where she grew up. Norma always commented on how she enjoyed raising and caring for Devon and their six children. They were the highlight of her life. She acquired many lifetime friends while working at Green Giant and Idaho Frozen Foods. Norma's hobbies included growing flowers, cooking and canning, sewing, playing pinochle, dominoes, gin rummy with Bud and her children, and talking on the phone with family and friends. Norma is survived by her sons, Devon Jr. (Luella), Melvin, Rande (Linda), Boyd and her daughter Grace (Jerry) Owen, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Best Friend for life Devon Sr. a son Jan, her parents and both brothers. A visitation for Norma will be held Monday, July 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home (2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, Idaho). Interment will take place at Tuesday, July 22 at the Twin Falls Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Jerry Reinke officiating.
