Verna Cheney

Verna Lee Cheney, 73, died at home July 8, 2014. Verna was born Aug. 24, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the first daughter and third child of 10 children born to Merrill William Curtis and Leola Jex Freshwater. Verna served a mission to Southern Australian Mission (1963-1965). Verna met Rex Milton Cheney Dec. 16, 1965 at a terrace dance Verna & Rex got married on May 27, 1966. Verna and Rex had 6 children. Three daughters, Jenny, Heidi and Leilani and three sons, Merrill, Samuel and Thomas and two grandsons, Dylan and Andrew. Verna and Rex were married 48 years. Preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rosemary. Funeral services will be held under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, at 10 am, Monday July 14, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, Main Street Chapel in Buhl, Id. Bishop Robert Schofield will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 am to 10 am at the church. Interment will be at West End Cemetery in Buhl.
