Carl "Gene" Randell, 86, of Kimberly, joined his loving wife Kathleen in heaven on June 27, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 3, 1927 in Burley, Idaho, the son of Carl Heber and Loena Decker Randell. He served the country in the US Marine Corps, receiving an honorable discharge in 1948. After his service to his country he was called to serve an LDS Mission in the Great Lakes Mission from Feb. 2, 1950 to Feb. 9, 1952. After returning from his mission he married the love of his life Kathleen Baker in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 30, 1952. To this union were born five children. Kathy (Vern) Babbitt, Donna (Gerald) Wade, Connie (Bill) Butler, Dwight (Gayle) Randell, and Robert (Julie) Randell. He leaves behind his children, one brother - Norman Randell. Two sisters - Betty (Harold) Nelson and LaDonna Stevens, 21 grandchildren and 24, great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Preceding him was his loving wife Kathleen, his parents, one sister - Beverly Glassman, and brother Billy Randell, He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Gene was a very giving person who was always willing to help anyone in need at any time. He assisted in establishing Camp Bradley by taking his backhoe and volunteering his time and labor. Gene was a dedicated family man always caring and treasuring the time he had with them, he especially loved taking his grandchildren on the truck. Throughout his life he was a dedicated member of the LDS Church serving in various capacities, including scouting, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and devoted many years delivering the Sacrament Services to the Care Center in Kimberly. He worked in many occupations during his life; he ran heavy equipment, owned a dairy, drove truck and owned a trucking company. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Kimberly Stake Center. Funeral Service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park with military honors offered by the Magic Valley Veterans and Auxiliary and the Idaho National Guard Honor Guard.
