Hilario Olmeda Davila, 87, of Twin Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday May 23, 2014 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Robstown, Texas on March 16, 1927, the son of Santos Davila and Altagracia Olmeda. His siblings were: Pablo, Teodoro, Chano, Tomasa and Ortencia. He was greeted in heaven, by those that passed before him: His parents, all of his siblings, his granddaughter, Katarina Graciela Davila, and his son-in-law, Michael Steven Sandoval. He married the love of his life, Esperanza Torres, in Laredo,Texas, July 30th, 1951. Together they raised five wonderful children: Hilario Davila Jr., Antonio (Elaine) Davila, Maria Leon, Rosa (Steve) Greene, and Gracie (Jeff) Hartman. They traveled extensively as migrant workers early in their marriage, and made Twin Falls their home. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, and grandsons. He also enjoyed gardening, and he was an avid Seattle Mariners baseball fan. He had worked for The Bureau of Land Management for several summers, and fought forest fires, sometimes on the same crew with his two sons. Hilario earned a Vocational Technician Certificate in Auto Body at C.S.I. and had worked at Hunter's Auto Sales. He later worked at Idaho Frozen Foods for seventeen years, before retiring in 1992. He leaves behind his loving wife of sixty two years, Esperanza, five children, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and his loyal companion, his dog, Tiger. Family was very important to "Lalo", everyone knew he would drop everything if you stopped by for a visit. He had a heart as big as his smile, and will be missed by all. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Intensive Care Unit, and the Medical Floor at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center for their kindness and compassion.
