John Carl Kozielski Sept. 1, 1922 -May 11, 2014 Twin Falls - John Carl Kozielski, 91, of Twin Falls, Idaho, died at St. Luke's Medical Center, Sunday, May 11, 2011. John was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 1, 1922 to Frank and Catherine Kozielski, He was one of five sons and the eighth of ten children. He married Ruby Hazel Halderson in August of i948. To this union eight children were born. John served in the Army as a medic from 1941 to 1945. He served in Iceland and Greenland. He was honorably discharged in 1945. John worked at the VA Hospital in St.Cloud, Minn. Upon moving his family to Clovis, California, he then worked for Fresno State University for 17 years as custodian, groundsmen, and filled in on various jobs as directed by his supervisor. He also worked part time at an Almond Hulling business on nights and weekends. He loved his work at the Almond Shed. He was a beloved father, husband and worked hard to support his family. John married Ruth Elaine Marcom, on May 6, 1972. They made their home in Clovis, California. John and Ruth later moved to Placerville, California. John worked for El Dorado County as a custodian and then retired in 1988. John and Ruth then retired to Twin Falls, Idaho in November of 1992. John worked awhile longer at Quality Homes (manufactured homes) as a handy man. They are members of Eastside Baptist Church. Surviving John is his wife, Ruth Kozielski, of Twin Falls, Idaho; children: Alan (Wendy) Kozielski, of Jerome, Idaho, Kurt (Barbara) Kozielski, of Clovis, California, Mark Kozielski, of Fresno, California, Joel Kozielski, of Clovis, California, Lori (Doug) Sholders, of Fresno, California, Kyle (Cathy) Kozielski, of Tollhouse, California. One sister, Sophie Brezezinski, of Clearwater, Florida; ten grandchildren, and eleven great- grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Catherine Kozielski, brothers, Frank, Stan, Tony, Faye, Joseph; sisters, Mary, Genieve, Lillian, one son' John David Kozielski, and infant daughter, Catherine Kozielski. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Veteran's section. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Services are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.
