Anna Faye Weekes, 75 of Hansen. Our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has taken our mother home, His purpose for her in our world is complete. Our mother, Anna Faye, passed away peacefully Mother's Day morning with her loving family at her side. Anna was born February 12, 1939 to Walter and Emma Hicks in Blanche Missouri. Anna was the first of five children, her siblings were Barbra, Bertha, Ella, and Clarence. The first 13 years of her life were spent in the Dora, Missouri area. Later the family moved to Jerome, Idaho where she attended school and eventually met and married Don VerWey. To this union was born 3 children Eldonna, Jim, and Kelly. She was a dedicated mother who enjoyed camping and fishing in the Wood River Valley and at Magic reservoir. She could land a 16 " trout with a string of pop gear when others were not getting a bite. Anna was an excellent cook, managing kitchens in the Twin Falls School district as well as cafeterias for ARA food services serving several locations for the Boeing Aircraft Company after relocating to the Seattle area. Later in life she took up Volkswalking, and developed a passion for car racing. Anna was a dedicated fan of the #24 car driven by Jeff Gordon who came through for her this last Saturday night in her final hours with a first place finish at the Kansas Speedway. She married and divorced Marvin Robertson and later married Hugh Steel who preceded her in death. The final twenty years of Anna's life were spent with Allen Junior Weekes, a sweet heart of hers from her teen years. Anna and Junior were reintroduced by their sisters and were married in 1994. They sold their Idaho City home in 1999, purchased a fifth wheel RV and hit the road. Their travels took them to several NASCAR races and to the Gulf Coast to aid in cleanup efforts after Hurricane Katrina. They also traveled to several states and Canadian provinces delivering RV's for numerous manufacturers. Anna's greatest treasures though, were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Allen Junior Weekes, sisters Barbra, Bertha, Ella and brother Clarence, daughter Eldonna (Roger) Dyer, son Jim (Janet) VerWey, son Kelly (Sheryl) VerWey, grandsons Jess Dyer, Jason VerWey, Travis Martin, Ryan (Brittany) VerWey, and Haydden Bowman-VerWey, granddaughters Carrie VerWey, Kallie (Kit) Carney, Brianne Veenendaal, and Mallori Bowman-VerWey, great grandsons Estlin Dyer, Shilo Weiss, Austen Martin and Paul Carney, and great granddaughters Makayla Mitchell, Madilyn Veenendaal, Kennedy Carney, Brooklyn VerWey, and Jaeleigh Veenendaal. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 16. 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls.
