Mildred Wilhelmina Carolina Bruckert Behnke, of Twin Falls, Idaho was called home to her Heavenly Father March 13, 2014. Mildred was blessed with 105 years of life. Born August 26, 1908 in Deshler, Nebraska, she was the only child of Jacob and Sophie Bruckert. Mildred and her parents resided in Deshler, Nebraska, moved for a short time to Davenport but then returned to Deshler. She started school at the age of seven when lessons were taught in German. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Deshler, Nebraska. In 1927, Mildred moved with her parents to Los Angeles, California where she attended Los Angeles High School graduating in 1928. She attended Woodbury Business College and worked for Agfa Ansco Camera Shop. She met and married the love of her life Arnold Behnke on January 1, 1930. They enjoyed 69 years together residing in Los Angeles and Rosemead, California and later retiring in 1972 in Bullhead City, Arizona. Following the death of her husband Arnold in 1999, Mildred was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Valley. In 2008, Mildred moved to Twin Falls, Idaho to be close to her cousins John and Shirley Lutz. She resided at Bridgeview Estates where she enjoyed playing Bingo and making many dear friends. Mildred was a member of the Clover Trinity Lutheran Church in Buhl, Idaho. Surviving Mildred are her cousins, John and Shirley Lutz of Twin Falls, Idaho and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Sophie Bruckert and her husband Arnold. Memorial services for Mildred will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Clover Trinity Lutheran Church 3552 N. 1825 E., Buhl, ID with arrangements and inurnment to be held at a later date at Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bullhead City, Arizona. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
