Carol Ann Whitten

Carol Ann Whitten, 82 of Twin Falls, Idaho on March 12, 2014 went to her rest in the hope of Resurrection with her loving family at her side. She was born January 4, 1932 in Glendale, California to Cornelius and Anna Sipkens Hekelaar. Carol grew up in southern California and in her teens went Idaho to attend and graduate from Gem State Adventist Academy in Caldwell in 1949. She then attended La Sierra College and Loma Linda University School of Nursing in California. In 1953, Carol married William (Bill) Whitten and the following year they moved to Twin Falls. Four children were born to Bill and Carol ~Bill Junior, Linda Diane (deceased) Talyn and Cynthia. When all the children were in school, Carol attended the College of Southern Idaho graduating in 1973 with the 1st R.N. Class. She worked for Magic Valley Regional Medical Center for about 20 years and also for a time as an employee health nurse at Universal Frozen Foods (Lamb Weston). She enjoyed all a good life had to offer, especially her family which she loved unconditionally and also appreciated all her faithful friends. In later years, she and Bill wintered in Arizona. She loved camping and travel and seeing new scenery - especially beautiful sunsets and puffy white clouds. Many family outings centered around their camping or fishing adventures; whether by motorhome or motorcycle from Alaska to Arizona resulting in lasting memories. Surviving Carol are her children, Bill Jr. (Karen) of Burley; Talyn (Kris) Klemmetson of Twin Falls; Cynthia (Dennis) West of Twin Falls; grandchildren, Travis Whitten, Sierra Koyle; Matthew West and Ethan Whitten; great-grandchildren Tristan, Kolter, Annika, Aiden and Nora June. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, daughter Linda Diane, her parents and sister, Lou. Memorial services for Carol will be held Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID.
