Terry L. Arnold, age 65, died peacefully at his home in Twin Falls on Monday, February 24, 2014, after courageously battling lung cancer. Terry was born on May 16, 1948 in Greeley, Colorado to Ellis (Ellie) and Ruby Arnold, and was the first of two sons in that marriage. He moved to Idaho at the age of 8. Ellie remarried to Martha (Marty), who brought 5 other children to the marriage. Terry considered these 5 kids his brothers and sisters. Terry was married to Anne Hughes Arnold for 39 years. They raised 3 children together, and Terry also had another son, Terry Lee Staley, who now lives in Michigan with his family. He obtained his GED and then earned a Heating and Air Conditioning Certification at CSI in the 80's, but for most of his working life he hauled potatoes for Blick Trucking. Terry enjoyed several activities with friends and family. He raced from 1990 to 1996 at Magic Valley Speedway, driving the 72 car. He later passed that car on to his son Willie for his first year of racing, and also sponsored Willie's race team, Outlaw Racing, through a hobby called Arnold Graphics. Terry was an avid golfer, spending many afternoons through the years at the Twin Falls City Course. He also bowled on a bowling league at Magic Bowl. In 1981, Terry coached his daughter Rhonda's YBA basketball team. He also loved fishing, woodworking, and gardening. Terry grew most of his and Anne's fresh vegetables, and taught all of his grandchildren how to plant and maintain a garden. Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents, and by his father Ellie, his step-mother Marty, and his mother Ruby. He is survived by his wife Anne; his children Willie (Alecia) Dalton, Terry Lee (Francesca) Staley, Tammy Coates, Rhonda (Ron Connor) Hanson; his grandchildren Russell, Shelby, and Temeka Dalton of Twin Falls, Idaho, Natasha, Ashley, Kelsey, Stephanie, Isaac, and Caleb Staley of Michigan, and Justice and Nickolas Coates of Twin Falls, Idaho; and his siblings Bill Arnold of Billet, Wisconsin, Terry Barreth of Kimberly, Idaho, John Barreth of Boise, Idaho, Verdel Stanford of Boise, Idaho, Nonie Shaub of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Christine Barreth of Florida. Terry's memorial service will be held at Parke's Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with entombment to follow at Twin Falls Cemetery. Casual dress is acceptable. The family would like to thank St. Luke's Home Health and Hospice for their care and compassion in Terry's final weeks.
