Velda Taylor Greenfield 1919 ~ 2014 Velda Taylor Greenfield went to be with her Savior on February 11, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Naida Kelleher in Caldwell, Idaho. Velda was born on May 3, 1919 in Pendennis, Kansas to Albert and Margaret Merle (Coop) Lenz. She attended schools in Kansas and moved to Idaho in 1936 with her younger brother and mother. Her stepfather, Andrew Davis had moved to Idaho a few months earlier, as he had two brothers and a sister in the Twin Falls area. After graduating from Kimberly High School, Velda married Eldred Taylor and they farmed on the Salmon Track south of Twin Falls where they raised their three children; Marvin Taylor, Evan Taylor and Naida Taylor Kelleher. Marvin passed away in 1991 of leukemia, Evan resided in South Dakota with his wife, Judy until he moved to Twin Falls to help care for his mom, and Naida lives outside Caldwell, Idaho with her husband of 50 years, John Kelleher. At the age of 51, Velda took Nurses training at CSI, graduating at the top of her class. As an LPN, she loved every shift she worked at Magic Valley Regional Hospital and then at the Twin Falls Clinic and Hospital, retiring at the age of 68. Eldred Taylor died in an accidental drowning incident in 1975. A year later Velda married Morris Greenfield and moved into Twin Falls. Mr. Greenfield passed away in 1992 at the age of 91. They spent many happy years together taking painting lessons, fishing, hunting and traveling. Velda like to crochet, read, play scrabble, quilt and work in her flower gardens. She was a charter member of the Squilla Club, Countryside Flower Club and the Desert Sage Quilting Club. She was also a member of the Salmon Social Club for many years and at the time of her death. Velda is survived by her son Evan (Judy) of South Dakota, daughter Naida (John) Kelleher with whom she lived the past 10 months of her life; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Velda will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID. Funeral services for Velda will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Interment following at Sunset Memorial Park.
