Marie Anna Bower Williamson 1926 ~ 2014 Marie Anna Bower Williamson, 87 of Twin Falls Idaho went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2014. Marie was born May 19, 1926 in Dallas South Dakota, the daughter of Harry and Pauline (Mavis) Bower. Marie grew up with her five siblings, and attended the rural Coyle school grades one through eight near Dallas, then she went on to attend Plainview Seventh-day Adventist Academy in South Dakota. In 1944, Marie came to Twin Falls at the age of 18 to care for her sister Helen's oldest daughter, so that Helen could work in the bean house. Upon being in Twin Falls a very short time, Marie met a young airman, on leave from Mountain home Air Force Base. Rudy Williamson had come to town to rollerskate at the Radio Rendezvous. Quite smitten with Marie's beauty, Rudy asked her to marry him and on June 10, 1944 she became Mrs. Dewey Rudolph Williamson. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Tonopah, Nevada where she worked as a receptionist in the Goldfield Hotel, until their nine-month anniversary, when their daughter Sandra Jo was born. Shortly after her birth, they were re-stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho and then they moved to Twin Falls and on February 7, 1949, their son Dewey was born. They loved Twin Falls and in 1956 purchased their home and matching van on Kimes Avenue and have not moved since. Upon settling in Twin Falls, Marie worked in the fields. Dewey was distraught at his mother's absence and so began his travels with her to work. After the fields, she worked in the bean houses sorting beans. When Skyview nursing home opened, she cleaned windows to begin with and then went on to patient care as a nurse's aide for the next 35 years. Then she went on to work in people's homes, caring for their elderly loved ones. She was very caring of her patients, keeping up with their social lives as well as their health. She made many lifelong friends and people that would call her and pass many an hour. Even when she was no longer working, she would gather the nurses and aides from the old Skyview every month for a luncheon meal out. Also every Christmas, she would host a Christmas dinner for the help. She was a loving caring mother as well as a friend. She cooked many dinners and parties for her friends. She was an amazing seamstress, and sewed party dresses and wedding dresses for young people and friends. The patterns she sewed by, were picture-perfect as well as the dishes she made were picture-perfect as well as tasty. She planned many a birthday party and anniversary party for her friends and family members. Marie's home was always open, all day long for family and friends. When the love of her life passed away, part of her died and so wanted to go on with Rudy. She grieved but it did not stop her from living her life. Marie was a member the Twin Falls of the Seventh Day Adventist church for some 50+ years. She could always be counted on to cook several dishes for potluck Sabbath dinners at her church until the last couple of years. She will be missed by so many friends and family.
