Paul Murray Smith entered into Eternal Rest Sunday, February 2, 2014. He was 74 years old. Although his passing was unexpected, it was absent of any prolonged illness or suffering or accident. Paul had many friends and a loving family. He will be remembered for his love of cars, his mechanical abilities, and adventurous spirit. Paul was born January 4, 1940 in a two room shack in Murfreesboro, Arkansas to Prentice and Lavernia Smith. In 1942, when he was 3 years old, his family moved to Oakland, California where his Dad was working in a WWII Defense plant. He graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland in 1958. Paul had many jobs during his life including parts man at a Ford Dealership, two small businesses, a motorcycle mechanic and a truck driver. He was proud of the fact that he had been to every State in the lower 48. His last adventure was in January, to Cabo San Lucas Mexico. It was his ?rst time traveling out of the country, where he caught two large Marlin ?sh. He is survived by his loving companion Barbara Smith, three children Kelly (Dean) Moyle of Filer, John (Penny) Smith of Ripon CA, Glenn (Debbie) Smith of Tracy, CA. Five grandchildren Erika Smith, Rex Moyle, Allison Smith, Shelby Moyle and Amanda Smith. Barbara's children Jerry (Shelby) Smith of Filer, their children: Ashley, Sage, Dustin & Luke, and Scott Smith (Salt Lake City). Brothers: Dave (Bonnie) Smith of Pleasanton CA and Jerry (Carol) Smith of Fair?eld, CA, his ?st wife Louise Nelson, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Prentice and Lavernia Smith, Brother Rick Smith, and his second wife Fran Smith. Friends are invited to call at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5 - 7 P.M. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd.
