Simone Maria Dunthorn 1928 ~ 2014 Simone Maria Dunthorn, 85 of Eden Idaho passed away January 21, 2014 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls surrounded by her loving family. Simone was born in Paris France on July 17, 1928, the daughter of Gean and Germaine (Goulet) Eppelle'. She grew up and attended schools in France and when she was 19, immigrated to the United States. While living in France she had met a handsome young man, named Henry Dunthorn. He was serving in the military and was just on leave when they met. He returned the United States after World War II, and remained in New York State where he worked for his uncle on a dairy farm and prepared to meet his wife On April 26, 1947, Simone married Henry Dunthorn in New York City, and for their honeymoon they went to a circus in Madison Square Gardens. Simone spoke very little English and it took about 20 years for her to become very fluent in our language, however she never lost her accent. Henry was required to buy her a round-trip air fare in case she decided she didn't want to stay in the United States. But she had fallen in love and to this union were born five children, Daniel, Alvin, Jan- Claude, Jacqueline and Denise. Simone worked outside the home for a time in the potato plants. She worked for Simplots, Ora`Ida One and Two and for Conada in Hazelton, ID. Simone loved being a homemaker, taking care of her family, tending her flowers and playing with her dogs. She and Henry loved to play many card games, including UNO, Pinochle, Bingo and Bunco. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving Simone is her loving husband of 66 ½ years, Henry of Eden Idaho, sons: Daniel H. Dunthorn of Boise Idaho, Alvin N. Dunthorn of Oregon; Jan -Claude Dunthorn of Rock Springs, Wyoming; daughters: Jacqueline Fountain of Eden, Idaho, and Denise L. (Joey) Dolence of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Also surviving are her two brothers, Henrye' (Yvette) Eppelle' of France; and Claude (Simone) Laribi of France; her sister, Margaret (Claude) Pinneberg, and their son, her nephew, Patrick Pinneberg of France; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation for Simone will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID; Funeral services for Simone will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11 AM at the funeral home, with interment following at Hazelton Cemetery in Hazelton Idaho.
