Sadie Lorene Partin

Sadie Lorene Partin, 94, of Hagerman passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 19, 2014, at her home. Sadie was born September 13, 1919, in Twin Falls, ID, the daughter of Ludwig and Marie Huether. She grew up and attended schools in Twin Falls. She rode the horse drawn wagon to Lincoln school her first year. On March 21, 1942, Sadie married Alfred Partin and moved to Mesa, AZ where Al worked at the air base during the war. Their daughter, Carol Ann was born in 1945 and soon after they returned to Twin Falls. She worked at the bean house and raised a large strawberry patch earning money to build their home near Rock Creek Canyon. In 1975, she sold her home on the canyon and moved to Hagerman. In 1971, Sadie and family purchased property in Jarbidge NV. She spent her summer and falls enjoying friends and cooler weather. It was here that she returned to her love of oil painting. She won several ribbons at county fairs and exhibited paintings in banks and restaurants. She sold hundreds of paintings at art fairs and by word of mouth. Her favorite subject was landscapes with old buildings and wildlife. In her later years she switched to painting animals on rocks. Sadie loved to play video poker and drove herself to Jackpot every other Sunday, weather permitting. She raised a large vegetable garden and mowed her own yard until this last summer. She loved to visit and liked to tell about her memories of "old Twin Falls" and her travels around the Northwest, Jamaica, Hawaii, and her adventures with the Harris Tours. She completed the crossword puzzle in the paper everyday. Sadie is survived by her daughter Carol Ann (Tom) Richardson of Jarbidge, NV, her granddaughters Lorene (Mark) Gilmore of Kuna, ID and Eugena (Lester) Barnes of Eugene, OR. Her great-granddaughter Danielle (Chad) Laing of Germany, and two great-great grandsons Connor and Chase. Two brothers Lewis (Donna) Huether of Kimberly and Bob (Mary) Huether of California as well as one sister Pat Rettinghouse of Kennewick, WA. She is preceded in death by her sister Alice Sterner and her brother Elmer Huether. Funeral service services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, burial will follow at the Twin Falls Cemetery.
