Allen Wilkins Moon passed away January 16, 2014. His last moments were spent on a trip to those golden arches,(McDonald's) his favorite place to visit. He was 64 years old and had succumbed to a battle with cancer. He was the third child of Charles J. and Afton Wilkins Moon. His Uncle Howard Wilkins(Donna) graciously took on the job of guardianship when Allen's mother passed away. He spent his childhood on the family farm in Declo, Idaho. He loved animals. One of his favorites was a steer named Tom Bull who seemed to understand and cope with Allen's moods. He spent his life in and out of institutions to help him with his numerous disabilities. Some of his early years were at Nampa State School, then as an adult he was at Purple Sage, and the remainder of his life with the WDB program. His struggles were demanding at times which kept those who cared for him quite busy, but to know him was to love him. He had a big beautiful smile that was contagious, usually accompanied with his unique laugh. Survivors include his brother Leonard Moon, and sisters, Patricia Moon, Lorna Holloway(Charles), and Marilyn Franks (Cory). He also had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He gained many friends over the years with the other clients and staff at WDB. We offer a special thank you to those who so lovingly cared for him and especially those involved in the last stages of his earthly life. Allen's viewing will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, January 23, 2014, Thursday from 5-7 pm followed by his life celebration service at 7 pm in the Parke's chapel.
