Kay Jean Nunes,70 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away Dec. 23, 2013 at Southern Idaho Advanced Care in Boise, Idaho. Kay was born Jan. 9, 1943 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Erwin and Luella Brauer. She attended schools in Twin Falls. She met her life partner, Glenn Nunes, in Laramie, Wyoming, and was married on Aug. 11, 1962. They spent most of their lives together in California where they raised two children, Chris and Lori. Kay worked as a dental assistant for John and Vincent Ford for over twenty years. After retirement, Kay and Glenn moved back to Twin Falls so that Kay could help care for her mother. Kay volunteered at the Salvation Army and Mustard Seed, as well as helping 2nd grade children with reading skills at Harrison school. She also had a passion for caring for all wildlife that might show up in her yard. Kay is survived by her husband of 51 years (Glenn Nunes-Twin Falls), son Chris (Tralee) Rodeo CA, daughter Lori Fiske (Brian) Oakley, CA, granddaughters, Malissa and Jessica Nunes and grandson, Tyler Fiske. She is also survived by her siblings, Vaughn, Dennis, Mona and Gayle. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and her brother, Alan Brauer. Most of her adult life was spent dealing with major health issues that most would find unbearable but not Kay. She accepted what was thrown her way with grace. When a brother, sister, child, mother, husband, or even friend was going through any type of trauma, Kay was the first to be there to offer support with no thought to her own current challenges. There were no strangers in Kay's life, only friends she had not met. She will be sorely missed and always in our hearts." Visitation for Kay will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Parkes' Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Vriesman officiating.
