Bobby Gene Robbins 1946 ~ 2013 Bobby Gene Robbins, age 67 of Kimberly, Idaho passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls Idaho. Bob was born December 5, 1946 in Polk County Tennessee. Bob met and later married Linda Carol Kay on February 10, 2000 in Twin Falls, Idaho. They had lived in the Twin Falls area including Kimberly for 23 years. Bob was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000, and battled it with the help of his family for 13 years. In 1968, Bob enlisted in the Army, and was later sent to Vietnam, where he became Cpl. Bobby Robbins. That same year on August 26, he was awarded the Bronze Star in Quang, Ngai, Vietnam. He received this prestigious honor for drawing enemy fire, allowing helicopters to touchdown and rescue the other men of the 101st Airborne Division. Bob loved the outdoors. Fishing, camping and all other meanings of the outdoors. He enjoyed wildlife, and Native American collectibles including any and all types of knives. He also loved the game of football, which he cheered on the Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans. Bob loved nothing more than his wife and children, and in 2002, Bob and Linda Robbins did a selfless act and adopted their four grandchildren. Family meant the world to Bob, especially his great-grandchildren. They all had a way of making him light up and forget about any pain or problems he was having. The joy and happiness they brought to his life was something seen every day in his eyes. Preceding Bob in death is his stepfather, Howard Newman. Bob is survived by his wife Linda Robbins, his mother Grace Newman, two sons, Darrin Robbins and Mike Kay; two daughters, Cheryl (Gale) Beach and Stephanie Kay; one brother, Larry (Dee) Robbins; one sister JoAnn (Walter) Hyatt; four grandchildren, Criss (Jen) Robbins, Jessika (Kris) Gailey, Lyndze Gailey, Shilah (Matt) Dorsey; six great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; and three great- great nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bob's life will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID.
