Clarence Albert Lamb 1929 ~ 2013 Clarence Albert Lamb, 84 of Twin Falls passed away December 3, 2013 at his home in Twin Falls Idaho. Clarence was born April 10, 1929 in the Enid Oklahoma, the son of George and Garnet (Crabtree) Lamb. At an early age, the family moved to Porterville California where Clarence graduated from Porterville High School in 1946. During his high school years, Clarence played football and was very good at it; Tight end #41 and he loved it. After high school he went to work for a feed company and was working there when he was drafted into the US ARMY during the Korean conflict in 1952 and sent to Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned to work for the feed company but was offered the opportunity to work for the telephone company. He began his career with Pacific telephone as lineman. Clarence worked with the crew that was selected for the task to put the first telephone poles in Sequoia National Park. The rule was they had to hide the poles so that they could not be seen from the road and would not obstruct anything in the park for visitors. So they had to travel way back into the canyons around the park in order to install telephone wires. Later when the power company came through to lay their lines, there were no such restrictions and they were allowed to place powerlines anywhere they felt like it. This really got under Clarence's skin. After 26 years, Clarence retired from Pacific telephone, December 1990. It had changed hands back and forth between AT&T and Pacific telephone, and shortly after he retired permanently became AT&T. Clarence married the love of his life, Sandra Minugh Lamb, June 27, 1982 in Carson City Nevada. They loved to travel and on one of their many trips to visit family in Emmett Idaho, they traveled through Twin Falls to get to Yellowstone National Park. While traveling through Twin Falls, Sandra fell in love with the area and after much cajoling and pestering, finally got Clarence to agree to move here. When Clarence wasn't working or traveling, he loved to golf, fish, take care of his yard, and garden, growing tomatoes and peppers. He also loved to climb his "picking ladder" into his cherry tree. It was tall and precarious, but he would climb with his satchel and get up into the tallest parts of the tree to gather the fruit. His favorite foods were bread and fried chicken. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving Clarence is his loving wife of 32 years Sandra Lamb; sons, Steve Lamb of St. George Utah; Craig Lamb of Three Rivers California; Jimy Cory of Twin Falls; Gary Cory of Topock, Arizona; Michael Cory of Visalia, CA; daughters, Linda (Randy) Sullivan of Visalia, California; and Betty Lamb of Exeter California; brothers, Donal Lamb and Duey Lamb; Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
