Glenn James Nelson, 84,of Jerome, Idaho passed away Sunday, November 10,2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls from complications after surgery. Glenn was born January 18, 1929 in Shoshone, Idaho. He graduated from Dietrich High School as Valedictorian in 1947. Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Bessie Mae Towne on November 4, 1949. They lived in Dietrich for 20 years on a ranch. They moved to Twin Falls in 1968 where Glenn owned and operated a successful Farmer's Insurance Agency and continued to run his cattle operation. Bessie passed away in 2001 and Glenn married Patty Stringham June 29, 2003. Glenn and Patty enjoyed 10 years together on their mini farm. Patty was a blessing to Glenn and all his family. They loved to go dancing on Friday night and spending time with family and friends. Glenn was a gentleman cowboy and a master story teller. He never knew a stranger or a cow he didn't like. If you knew him you were blessed by his loving generous character. Glenn was preceded in death by Bessie, 2 brothers, his sister Lorraine Stevens, and his first great granddaughter, Dakota and great grandson, Jamie. He is survived by his wife, Patty of Jerome, his brother Philip (Leila) Nelson of Twin Falls, his sons Glenn (Jeline) Nelson and Mike Nelson both of Missoula, Mt, and his daughter Diana (Carl) Sweet of Twin Falls, and numerous grandchildren. Services to honor Glenn will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Magic Valley Bible Church located at 204 Main Avenue North, Twin Falls. Services are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Jubilee House or your charity of choice.
