Teri Ann Lott was passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Twin Falls Idaho. Teri was born July 29, 1974 in Olympia Washington. She was the second of five children born to George Lott Sr., and Judith May Joy. George Sr. was in the Army and Teri went to Germany in 1975 with Judy and George Jr., an umbrella stroller, a purse, a diaper bag and 13 pieces of Luggage. They only stayed there for 6 months rather than the original three years. Teri always laughed when mom or dad would scold the boys, but when she was scolded, she would have huge tears like her heart was broken. Because mother worked and there were three brothers at home, the decision was to place her in the care of the state at the state hospital. She was six and a half and the worse in the state applying for one available bed. Due to financial needs and work schedules, the family was not able to visit her for three months. When they were finally able to visit with her, she would smile and interact with the boys and dad, but she would not have anything to do with or look at mom for three hours. She was mad at mom! Due to her brain damage, it was thought she would never ever be able to speak, but she had other plans. Throughout her life, she was able to say 8 words; Hi, cute, dada, mom, momma, no, ha, Au (which she used to call Audrey). At the age of 10, she became so ill and the family was told she would not make it. Grandpa Joy called the funeral home and ordered her casket. She miraculously recovered after a priesthood blessing. After Audrey was born, during the many times the family would visit, Audrey would ride on her foot rest between her feet. In 1988 George and Judy divorced. In 1995 Howard and four children joined the family when he married Judy and in 2000, Anna joined the family when she married George Sr. In 1995, Teri graduated from high school from Nampa High School. About the same time, Teri was stable enough to be placed in and join them at their new home only if she was accompanied by her best friend, Holly. They both moved and were roommates for a total of over twenty years. (some at the state hospital and some at Boise Group Homes) until Holly passed away in 2007. In 2011, Teri became ill again and was unable to return to Boise Group Homes, so the choice was made to have her live with Kevin and Audrey. The family was told she would not make it past 24 to 48 hours. Due to her worsened condition, she was given two tablespoons of formula and two tablespoons of water every hour. Mom was afraid she would die a terrible death from so little nutrition. After much prayer, mom decided that if she could live off two ounces of food three times a day, so could Teri. After the change, Teri started to improve and eventually was able to be taken off of hospice. Audrey and Kevin enjoyed two years to the day of being with and caring for Teri until Kevin got a job out of state. During the time she was with Audrey and Kevin, our dear Martha started caring for Teri. Teri moved in with mom and Howard. Teri was always scooting down in bed, so Howard and George Jr. would help her move back up in bed. Teri would laugh And smile because she liked the ride. Teri was well enough to travel to Boise to see Keith the Sunday before her passing. She passed away 6:28 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013. We will always be grateful for the time that we had with her and we will cherish the memories we have made with her. Teri is survived by her parents, George (Ann) Lott Sr., Judith (Howard Hepworth), her brothers-George, Keith, Donald, and Brian: her sisters- Audrey, Amy, April, and Amanda and their respective significant others, and many, many, cousins. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Don and Helen Joy, LaRoy and Wilma Lott. Our family would like to send special Thank You to those who helped care for Teri through her life, especially Martha, who is now a member of our family!
